Against Her Will (part one)

Slamming his office door, Eric growled with frustration.

Why did she have to be so stubborn?

Bending down to open one of the desk drawers, he removes a folder before slamming it closed once again.

“Someone’s having a hissy fit.”

Pam’s cool voice came from the office next to his. His Vampire hearing enabled him to detect the amusement in her tone and he growled once more.

“Shut up, Pam.”

Tsking, a smirk curling her lips, Pam uncrossed her legs and eased out her chair. Casually making her way to his office door, her heels click on the hallway floor. Not bothering to knock, she opens the door and folds her arms across her chest.

“Did you and Sookie have a fight?”

She couldn’t help but be amused. Sookie was nearly as capable at annoying Eric as she was and Pam fond that attribute to be quite charming. Leaning back in his desk chair, Eric’s eyes narrow on Pam. She adorned her usual work attire, tight fitting leather pants, a revealing red and black corset and bright red pumps. At the moment, Eric wanted to do nothing more than take her beloved heels and bash her upside the head with them. Scowling, he flips open the folder and refuses to respond to her question.

“I see”

Pam crossed the room and gracefully eased into one of the chairs in the office.

“Come out with. Abby says, “It’s better to get it off of your chest, instead of keeping it bottled in line.””

Eric fought the urge to roll his eyes. He never understood Pam’s fascination with the ‘Dear Abby’ column and at the moment he wanted to tell her where she could shove Abby’s advice. Knowing Pam would just insist on waiting around until he told her what she wanted to hear, Eric reluctantly looked up from the folder.

“Sookie refuses to allow me to turn her.”

Pam’s calm face never wavered. She was quite aware of Sookie’s desire to remain human. Though, she personally enjoyed being a Vampire, Pam couldn’t help but admire Sookie’s convictions on the matter.

“And?”

Eyes blazing with blue fire, Eric’s slams his fist onto the desk.

“And I think she is being careless and foolish.”

Shaking her head, Pam exhaled deeply, though quite unnecessarily.

“So, she doesn’t want to be a Vampire. You’ve known this Eric. Why is it a problem now?”

Eric scowled and turned his gaze back towards the paperwork in front of him.

“She is mine. Even without the bond, she is still my wife. Am I supposed to stand by and watch her grow old? Am I to watch her die?”

Sighing, Pam couldn’t help but feel for her Maker. The loss of Miriam had been hard on her and if she could have, she would have changed her. But Sookie was neither old nor ill. She still had many years a head of her and could possibly even change her mind.

“Eric…” Pam started slowly, “If it’s what she wishes…”

“I don’t care what she wants!” He snarled, “She wishes to be with me, then she will have to come to this decision or else I will force it onto her.”

A little taken back, Pam’s eyes widen in surprise.

“You would turn her against her will, Eric? She would despise you for eternity.”

Mouth set in a firm line, Eric pondered over this logic for several long moments.

“No. But you will.”
